About ZEPU-KS106
ZEPU-KS106 is a press-type hydraulic machine for the lower limbs. The patient sits with the back supported and the feet on the plate, extends the legs against the hydraulic resistance, then bends them back, also against resistance. It is the longest machine in the series, at 1775 mm.
ZEPU-KS106 is part of the ZEPU-KS series of hydraulic resistance strength machines. All models in the series share the same principle: a hydraulic cylinder with 10 adjustment steps brakes the movement in both directions, with no weights and no eccentric phase. Maximum load is 150 kg and the seat and pads adjust to the patient.
Key features
- Foot push. The press movement trains the quadriceps, glutes and hamstrings together, in a closed kinetic chain.
- Seat with backrest. The trunk rests on the backrest and the movement comes from the hip and knee.
- Bidirectional hydraulic resistance. The hydraulic cylinder brakes the movement in both directions. The patient works actively on the way out and on the way back, with no eccentric phase and no jolts.
- 10 adjustment steps. The resistance level is chosen from a 10-position selector without getting off the machine.
- Maximum load 150 kg. Frame and upholstery rated for patients up to 150 kg.
- No weights. No weight stack or plates. The machine is safe for elderly patients and for post-operative rehabilitation.
Clinical indications
The equipment is indicated for:
- Rehabilitation after knee and hip replacement
- Regaining lower limb strength after immobilisation
- Leg strengthening in the elderly, before gait re-education
- Return to strength training in athletes
Frequently asked questions
What does bidirectional hydraulic resistance mean?
Resistance comes from a hydraulic cylinder that brakes the movement in both directions. The patient works concentrically on the way out and on the way back, with no eccentric phase and no free-falling weights.
How does it differ from a weight-stack machine?
There is no weight stack or plates. Resistance increases with the speed of execution, so the patient cannot be overpowered by the load, and the level is changed from a 10-step selector without getting off the machine.
Which patients is it suitable for?
Orthopaedic and post-operative rehabilitation, elderly patients and athletes returning to training, in clinics, rehabilitation centres and physiotherapy gyms.
