Cookie Policy
This document describes the information the site stores on or reads from your device and the basis on which it does so. It applies Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC together with the consent rules of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
The protection of terminal equipment applies to every user, including when you browse from a device provided by your employer or on behalf of a company. Selling to businesses only does not release us from asking for consent for any storage that is not strictly necessary.
What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file saved in your browser to remember information between pages or between visits. The same rules apply to any technology that stores or reads data in terminal equipment, including localStorage, under Guidelines 2/2023 of the European Data Protection Board.
How We Use These Technologies
We store the strict minimum the site needs to work: the language you selected and the choice you made in the cookie banner. For anything else we ask for consent in advance, and refusing does not restrict your access to the content.
What Is Stored on Your Device
Strictly necessary
These are set without consent, because without them the function you asked for cannot be provided. They do not track your browsing and are not shared with third parties.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | Cookie | Remembers the language you selected, so the site opens in the same language on your next visit. | 12 months |
| mk-cookie-consent | localStorage | Remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner, so you are not asked again on every page. | Until cleared in the browser |
Analytics
These would serve to measure traffic and understand which pages are useful to visitors.
We currently use no traffic analytics solution and nothing is stored in this category. If we enable one, we will load it only after consent and update this table beforehand.
Marketing
These would serve to measure campaigns and to show adverts on other sites.
We use no advertising cookies and we do not share data with advertising networks.
Content Embedded from Third Parties
Some pages display content hosted by third parties. That content may store data in your terminal equipment once it is loaded, and the provider then processes that data under its own policy.
- YouTube videos, on product pages
- They are embedded through the youtube-nocookie.com domain and load only after you press play. Until then a static image is shown and nothing is sent to Google.
- The map, on the contact page
- The map is provided by Google Maps and loads only after you press the show button. Until then nothing is sent to Google. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Blocking these domains in your browser or in a blocking extension stops the embedded content from loading, without affecting the rest of the page.
How to Change Your Choice
On your first visit, the banner asks for consent for the categories that are not strictly necessary. You can accept, refuse, or choose per category.
You can change your choice at any time, as easily as you made it, from the cookie settings link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out until that moment.
- Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies, either entirely or for one site. The option sits in the privacy section of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
- Clearing the site data in your browser also removes the choice saved in localStorage, and the banner appears again.
- To manage advertising cookies of several companies at once you can use www.youronlinechoices.eu.
If you block the strictly necessary items, some functions behave unexpectedly: the language is no longer remembered and the banner reappears on every page.
Relationship with Personal Data
Where the information stored in your terminal equipment allows identification, whether directly or by combination with other data, it becomes personal data and the Privacy Policy applies to it in full: legal basis, retention period, recipients and your rights.
Updates to This Policy
We update this document whenever we add or remove a storage technology. If we introduce a category that needs consent, the banner asks for your choice again before it is activated.
