About the 7.0T small animal MRI system
This preclinical MRI system uses a helium-free, conduction-cooled superconducting magnet with an ultra-high 7.0 Tesla field and a short geometry. It is intended for in-vivo imaging of small animals in life science and basic medical research: neuroscience, oncology, cardiovascular disease and drug development, according to the manufacturer.
Field stability is at most 0.01 ppm per hour, with a high-order shimming system, an all-digital real-time spectrometer, a multi-channel RF transmit and receive system and dedicated coils for mice, rats and macaques. Removing liquid helium cuts long-term operating costs and the trouble caused by helium shortages, according to the manufacturer.
